About Me

About the Project

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the project was inspired by personal life. Witnessing the events in the article first-hand, it was noticed the media did not fully cover the extent of what has happened to Puerto Rico since Hurricane María. The purpose of this project was to spread awareness about the island.

I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to the United States at a very young age. I went on to study journalism at Stony Brook University.

Focusing on photography, I also run a small business on Instagram. @cesteromuniz_productions

A very important value in Puerto Rican culture is family. Without my family, this project would not have been possible.
